Public Information Intern – UN Web TV

About the role

The United Nations Department of Global Communications is seeking a motivated Public Information Intern to support its UN Web TV and Photo Unit. This on‑site internship in New York offers hands‑on experience in digital media production, image archiving, and social‑media support within a global diplomatic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the UN Photo Unit with daily coverage, digital retouching, and basic captioning of United Nations meetings.
• Upload and archive photographs using the Orange Logic DAM platform, ensuring accurate metadata for publication on the UN Photo website.
• Support the management of UN social‑media accounts and contribute to other communication tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with the Chief of the Photo Unit and other team members to maintain high‑quality visual content.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or having completed a graduate program, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• Strong interest in the United Nations’ mission and a commitment to its values.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Computer literacy in standard word‑processing and spreadsheet applications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Orange Logic digital asset management (DAM) platform.
