Public Information Intern – UN Photo Unit

About the role

The Public Information Intern will join the UN Photo Unit, supporting daily coverage of United Nations meetings and contributing to the digital archiving of photographs. This full‑time, on‑site internship offers hands‑on experience in image management, captioning, and social media support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with digital retouching of current and archival images.
• Caption photographs and upload them to the Orange Logic DAM platform with appropriate metadata.
• Support the UN Photo website by ensuring accurate image publishing.
• Help manage UN Photo’s social media accounts and related tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of the Unit.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate program, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree.
• Strong interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter.
• Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of French or another UN language is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
