About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a senior leader to direct public health nursing strategy and operations across the state. This role oversees nursing activities in public health facilities and community programs, ensuring high‑quality care and effective response to emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning for public health nursing aligned with agency objectives.
• Coordinate programs with state agencies, health care providers, educational institutions, and community organizations.
• Implement special projects as directed by the division director.
• Direct subordinate managers and staff, providing policy guidance and leadership across multiple units.
• Plan, organize, and oversee nursing activities in assigned facilities and community‑based programs.
• Manage disaster and emergency response coordination.
• Collect and analyze demographic, epidemiologic, and biostatistical data to identify health risks.
• Engage community leaders in formal and informal assessment processes.
• Develop and manage the budget, making cost‑effective decisions.
• Facilitate community groups to evaluate health concerns and inform policymakers.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in public health nursing.
• Proven ability to direct managers and multidisciplinary staff.
• Experience in strategic planning and policy development.
• Strong background in budget development and financial management.
• Demonstrated skill in disaster and emergency response coordination.
• Ability to analyze epidemiologic and biostatistical data.
• Experience collaborating with government agencies, health care providers, and community organizations.
