Public Agency Litigation Attorney (Senior)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney with at least six years of experience to join our Public Agency practice. The role involves handling complex litigation for public entities, appearing regularly in court, and working directly with clients in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Litigate matters on behalf of public agencies, including cities, special districts, and joint powers authorities.
• Manage cases through all phases of litigation: pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue dispositive and procedural motions.
• Appear in court and before administrative bodies.
• Advise clients on litigation strategy, settlement, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups while managing matters independently.

Required profile

• Minimum of 6 years of litigation experience.
• Experience representing public agencies or litigating governmental matters (preferred).
• Experience with land use and/or CEQA is a plus.
• Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy abilities.
• Collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active California bar license in good standing.
