About the role
The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a compassionate Psychologist to join the Georgia Rehabilitation and Health Agency (GRHA). You will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation services to individuals with mental health and developmental challenges.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments (cognitive, behavioral, personality) to guide diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement evidence‑based treatment plans using modalities such as CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and family therapy.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute psychological insights.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with agency policies and regulations.
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Educate staff, families, and guardians on psychological principles and behavioral management strategies.
- Engage in professional development and maintain licensure.
- Assist in program development and evaluation initiatives.
Required profile
- Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA‑accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Psychologist in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2 years post‑doctoral clinical experience, preferably in behavioral health or developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence‑based interventions.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or serious mental illness is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
