Project Manager III – Capital Projects (Geismar)

About the role

Rubicon is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead capital projects for its Polyurethanes Division in Geismar. You will oversee projects from concept through construction and hand‑off, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop preliminary technical scopes and Total Installed Cost (TIC) estimates for capital projects.
• Prepare and submit expenditure proposals to secure funding.
• Manage all project phases: concept, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout.
• Coordinate internal design resources, estimating functions, and external engineering firms.
• Review contractor and vendor bids and participate in selection.
• Provide technical and financial oversight during construction and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain project schedules from inception to completion.
• Evaluate risks, cost estimates, and recommend contingencies.
• Conduct EHS, life‑cycle, and profitability analyses.
• Ensure safe execution in line with company and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 10–20 years of experience in a chemical plant or refinery environment as a process, project, or maintenance engineer.
• Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
