Project Engineer – Water Infrastructure (Nevada)

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead water‑works design and construction projects in southern Nevada. The role combines office‑based engineering design with field‑based construction oversight, supporting critical infrastructure that enhances community resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, process, review and maintain engineering studies, submittals, records and reports for water facilities design and construction.
• Lead complex engineering assignments, including chemical feed systems, on‑site sodium hypochlorite generation, flocculation areas, pumping stations, wells, pipelines and reservoirs.
• Maintain first‑level quality assurance to ensure designs and installations meet plans, specifications and industry standards.
• Review daily inspection reports, quality management plans and ensure testing and inspections are documented per approved procedures.
• Collaborate with design and construction teams to mitigate hazards and ensure safe work practices.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and design staff to resolve technical issues and monitor project schedules and material deliveries.
• Compile final project turnover data, progress reports and back‑charge procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 10+ years of design and/or field construction experience.
• Professional Engineering licensure in Nevada or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry regulations.
• Experience with multi‑million‑dollar capital improvement projects in water infrastructure.
