Programmer 2 – State Government IT Position

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Programmer 2 to join the Department of Public Safety. This full‑time position works on‑site at the GPSTC campus in Forsyth, providing software development and support for state‑wide applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code, test, modify and debug computer software.
• Analyze, research, and troubleshoot software and system problems.
• Develop documentation of programming and troubleshooting activities.
• Install and maintain database information systems.
• Provide application support to end‑users and respond to help‑desk requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR two years of post‑secondary technical coursework, OR two years of full‑time programming experience.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma/GED with at least one year of programming experience or experience at the lower‑level Programmer 1.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to work on‑site.
