Program Manager – NIH‑Funded Public Health Research

About the role

The Program Manager will serve as the central operational lead for a five‑year NIH‑funded research project that aims to improve sleep, stress recovery, and wellbeing among men in Philadelphia. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, co‑investigators, community partners, and research staff, the role ensures smooth day‑to‑day implementation of the study.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑develop and maintain project timelines, work plans, milestone trackers, SOPs, and implementation calendars.
• Coordinate daily activities across Drexel, partner institutions, community organizations, consultants, and study personnel.
• Make routine operational decisions within the approved protocol and resolve implementation issues.
• Organize project meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and monitor task completion.
• Oversee purchasing, participant‑payment processes, equipment and supply needs, and other administrative activities.
• Support subawards, contracts, hiring, financial monitoring, and sponsor reporting with university offices.
• Assist in preparation of NIH progress reports, internal reports, presentations, and required documentation.
• Facilitate group‑based intervention sessions, ensure fidelity to curriculum, and provide feedback on implementation.
• Manage recruitment, screening, enrollment, scheduling, retention, and participant communication workflows.
• Supervise and develop additional intervention facilitators.

Required profile

• Experience managing NIH‑funded or similar research projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi‑institutional teams and community partners.
• Facilitation experience with group‑based health interventions.
• Familiarity with grant administration, subaward management, and sponsor reporting.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
