About the role
The Georgia Department of Public Health seeks a Program Manager to lead the 55+ Driver Safety Project, a grant‑funded initiative aimed at reducing motor‑vehicle injuries among older drivers across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate injury‑prevention programming focused on older driver safety.
- Meet deliverables for program grants from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
- Provide statewide technical assistance and support to health departments and partner organizations.
- Identify, coordinate, and evaluate educational and training programs related to older drivers and highway safety.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of program interventions and report on grant objectives.
- Recommend policies and procedures to improve older driver safety in Georgia.
- Prepare and administer grant deliverables and contracts for services.
- Communicate and collaborate with state, federal, and community entities to promote optimal program implementation.
- Manage the grant budget and supervise program staff and interns.
- Lead the Georgia Older Driver Task Team, coordinating meetings and activities under the Strategic Highway Safety Plan.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current trends, guidelines, and research in older driver safety.
- Attend and participate in related seminars, conferences, and training courses.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least five years of relevant experience, including two years in a managerial or supervisory role (or equivalent lower‑level position).
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, leadership, and planning/evaluation skills.
- Demonstrated experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Computer skills and ability to interpret data.
