Program Coordinator I – College of Engineering

About the role

The Program Coordinator I supports the College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University by planning, developing, and executing a variety of outreach and recruitment programs. This full‑time, on‑site role reports to senior staff and works closely with students, faculty, and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of the College’s summer camps, including the Girls Techno Summer Camp.
• Coordinate student competitions, hackathons, and large‑scale university recruitment events such as Panthers Day on the Hill and Senior Day on the Hill.
• Develop and execute K‑12 outreach events (Elementary Day, Middle School Day, High School Preview Day, College Day).
• Represent the college at career fairs, school visits, STEM nights, and other community events.
• Create and update brochures, flyers, email campaigns, presentations, and promotional merchandise.
• Arrange tours of engineering facilities for prospective students, parents, educators, and VIP guests.
• Collect, organize, and curate post‑event photos for marketing, social media, and website use.
• Track and analyze data related to outreach, recruitment, and student success programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (any field).
• Minimum of two years of related work experience, preferably in program coordination, event planning, or educational outreach.
