Production Underwriter – Package Lines

About the role

Encova Insurance is seeking a Production Underwriter for Package Lines to join its commercial lines team in Georgia. This remote position will focus on underwriting accounts over $100k in premium, traveling across the state to build and maintain agency relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the agency manager for assigned agents, serving as the primary liaison between Encova and its appointed agency force.
• Develop and nurture agency relationships through regular visits, focusing on growth, profitability, and participation in Encova’s profit‑share program.
• Review risks, determine acceptability, and write profitable new business while retaining renewal accounts.
• Achieve premium growth and profitability targets while delivering excellent customer service.
• Utilize a company‑provided vehicle for travel throughout Georgia.

Required profile

• Experience in commercial lines underwriting, preferably with worker’s compensation or package lines.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risk and determine acceptability.
• Ability to travel regularly across the state and represent Encova professionally.
• Self‑motivated with a focus on meeting growth and profitability objectives.
