Production Planning Analyst – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

As a Production Planning Analyst at 3M, you will collaborate with global teams to plan and schedule production work centers, ensuring customer requirements are met while improving operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule production work centers, monitor output, and drive operational efficiency.
• Procure materials and communicate future requirements to suppliers to support the production plan.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Lean Value Stream, Operations, and participate in Tier processes.
• Partner with manufacturing, value‑stream leadership, and supply planners to prioritize and resolve supply constraints, balancing service, inventory, and cost.
• Manage production parameters such as lot sizes, cycles, safety stocks, and capacity to meet inventory and service targets.
• Execute standard production planning work using supply‑chain tools, IT systems, and processes.
• Provide analytical support for data‑driven decision making and lead continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed before start date.
• At least two years of combined experience in planning, inventory control, or supply chain in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• APICS certification (or equivalent supply‑chain knowledge).
