Production Operator – North Geismar

About the role

We are seeking a Production Operator to join BASF’s North Geismar chemical plant in Louisiana. The role involves operating and monitoring production processes on a 12‑hour shift to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing of chemical products.

Key responsibilities

• Operate process controls using Distributed Control System (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to manufacture chemical products.
• Facilitate the transfer of raw materials and finished goods to and from vessels, including railcars, tank trucks, totes, and drums.
• Collect and document process data, interpret results, and make adjustments as needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
• Handle waste streams in compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Participate in training, development activities, and emergency response procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of manufacturing experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: post‑secondary technical program (e.g., PTEC) and prior chemical operations experience.
• Military experience may be considered as relevant experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
