Production Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift

About the role

The Production Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery on the 2nd shift. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the role ensures safe, efficient operation of food‑production lines at Nestlé’s Jonesboro plant.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
• Interpret engineering drawings, manufacturer instructions and plant procedures to execute repairs.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout and confined‑space safety procedures for all work.
• Enter work order data accurately into the Nestlé CMMS and recommend improvements to the preventive‑maintenance program.
• Collaborate with maintenance team leaders, engineers and other departments to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent; mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, basic electrical skills, and ability to read electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of food‑production equipment, LOTO and confined‑space standards.
• Basic PC and keyboarding skills; ability to operate simple machine tools.
• Robotics knowledge is preferred.
