Product Lead, Biodefense

About the role

Radical Numerics is seeking a Product Lead to own product and commercial execution for biodefense, improving global preparedness against high‑consequence biological risks. You will translate technical evaluations into funded deployments and guide the integration of the Omnii model into customer pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize biosecurity problems, shaping Omnii’s capabilities for detection, diagnostics, and countermeasure support.
• Set technical performance bars, design blinded retrospective studies, and define acceptance criteria for various sample types.
• Develop government opportunities, understand funding sources, and navigate award mechanisms such as OTAs, BAAs, and small‑business programs.
• Translate deployment constraints (on‑premises, disconnected operation, auditability) into concrete product requirements.
• Lead prototype development, collaborate with applications engineering, and manage pricing, deal structure, and negotiations.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering technical programs for the US government, including award cycle navigation.
• Fluency in pathogen genomics, biosurveillance, or related fields, with deep understanding of next‑generation and metagenomic sequencing.
• Ability to engage with government scientists, turn technical obstacles into product decisions, and communicate clearly with engineers.
• Willingness and eligibility to obtain a US security clearance.
