Product Designer (Early‑stage role)

About the role

We believe that not enough design thinking has gone into the tools we use to build software, leading teams to work with clunky mixes of tools and spreadsheets. You will help us change that by re‑imagining how working with data in Clay feels. As an early designer, you’ll apply a unique blend of design and product knowledge to shape the future of our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship core features, maintaining the underlying infrastructure.
• Collaborate across the product team, give and receive thoughtful feedback, and learn from experts.
• Take ownership of initiatives, defining what matters most and driving them forward.
• Interview users, analyze feedback, and help prioritize the roadmap through user research.
• Design and prototype novel interfaces, building lightweight prototypes to explore new interaction patterns.

Required profile

• Clear design process that identifies the right problems, evaluates multiple solutions, and articulates trade‑offs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to convey ideas visually and verbally.
• Systems thinking to break down complex problems into simple, reusable interfaces.
• Ability to deliver pixel‑perfect designs and inspire engineering partners to match that quality.
• Thinking in interactions rather than static screens, understanding software as a responsive system.
• Customer‑focused approach, constantly empathising with users to deliver intuitive value.
• 8+ years of experience in a relevant product design role.
