Product Designer (AI Code Review)

About the role

Design at CodeRabbit sits at the intersection of craft, developer empathy, and deep technical complexity. As our Product Designer, you will shape how millions of developers experience AI‑powered code review across IDEs, Git platforms, the CLI, and the web, inventing interaction patterns where none exist.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design, from research and information architecture to high‑fidelity visual design and occasional implementation.
• Craft polished, trustworthy interfaces that make complex code analysis feel effortless.
• Define interaction patterns, micro‑interactions, and motion for emerging AI experiences.
• Build and scale a comprehensive design system across web, IDE extensions, Git platforms, and CLI surfaces.
• Design clear visualizations for code quality metrics, dependency graphs, and AI‑generated insights.
• Partner cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and AI teams to define vision and roadmap.
• Stay close to AI model capabilities, prototype rapidly to communicate concepts and build excitement.

Required profile

• Exceptional visual and interaction design skills with mastery of typography, layout, color, hierarchy, and motion.
• Ability to ship quickly while maintaining high craft standards.
• AI‑native workflow, using AI tools as creative partners.
• Willingness to rethink UI primitives and invent patterns for AI‑driven developer tools.
• Strong collaboration and communication, influencing without authority.
• 2–5+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio.
• Proven track record of shipping complex technical products in fast‑moving environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Figma.
• Ability to prototype with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience creating and maintaining scalable design systems.
• Understanding of Git workflows and software development processes.
• Comfortable prototyping with front‑end code and version‑control tools.
