Process Systems Engineer

About the role

The Process Systems Engineer will conduct advanced research and development of physical, chemical, and biological water treatment processes to ensure safe drinking water and meet regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute bench‑, pilot‑, and full‑scale testing programs, including chemical feed system integration with SCADA.
• Develop and apply hydraulic and empirical models, perform statistical data analysis, and prepare technical reports, memos, and scientific publications.
• Prepare capital and operating budget requests, coordinate equipment design with manufacturers, and manage purchase requisitions.
• Assist in writing grant proposals, update standard operating procedures, and train staff on new processes.

Required profile

• PhD in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering (preferred) with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience performing research at bench, pilot, and full‑scale levels and working in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to communicate research findings effectively in writing and orally.

Required skills

• Hydraulic and empirical modeling of water treatment processes.
• Statistical analysis of experimental data.
• Design of chemical dosing calculations and integration with SCADA control systems.
• Knowledge of bench‑, pilot‑, and full‑scale water treatment methodologies.
