PRN Speech Pathologist – Inpatient

About the role

The PRN Speech Pathologist provides inpatient speech‑language evaluations and treatment programs based on physician orders. The role collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients transition to the appropriate level of post‑acute or home care while meeting individualized goals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive speech‑language evaluations and develop treatment plans for inpatient populations.
• Assess patient response to therapy, modify plans as needed, and document progress according to hospital standards.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with documentation policies.
• Contribute to hospital quality and safety initiatives through adherence to treatment protocols.
• Adapt communication style and procedures to respect patient privacy and cultural preferences.
• Travel between facilities as required and perform other related duties assigned.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
• Current state license (or eligibility for licensure) and ASHA Clinical Competence certification within two years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong judgment, decision‑making, and interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations.
• Ability to travel across facilities within the Meridian region.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software applications, and web‑based platforms.
• Clinical competence in speech‑language pathology as evidenced by ASHA certification.
