PRN Occupational Therapist – Ambulatory Care Center

About the role

The PRN Occupational Therapist provides inpatient occupational therapy evaluations and treatment programs based on physician orders, collaborating with the healthcare team to guide patients toward appropriate post‑acute or home care and achieve individualized goals.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient evaluations and develop treatment plans aligned with physician orders.
• Assess patient response, modify treatment plans as needed, and ensure safety.
• Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with documentation standards.
• Follow treatment protocols that support hospital quality and safety targets.
• Adapt communication and service delivery to respect patient privacy and diverse diagnoses.
• Travel between facilities as required and stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current occupational therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior experience required.
• Willingness to travel among Ochsner facilities.

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
