PRN Interventional Cardiologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Health in Baton Rouge is seeking a board‑eligible or board‑certified Interventional Cardiologist to join its growing practice. The position is PRN (as‑needed) and involves rotating coverage across hospital, cath lab, and clinic sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced heart failure, TAVR, vascular surgery, and electrophysiology support on a rotating schedule.
• Cover one hospital with general call every fifth night and interventional backup every third night.
• Rotate cath lab days, weekly hospital coverage, night and weekend call, and weekend rounding.
• Practice at three clinic locations and support diagnostic services including EKGs, Holter monitoring, stress tests, cardiac and vascular ultrasound, and stress echocardiography.
• Participate in the arrhythmia/device clinic and cardiac rehabilitation programs.

Required profile

• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Interventional Cardiology.
• Willingness to rotate call schedules and work across multiple sites.

Required skills

• Interventional cardiology procedures.
• Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
• Vascular surgery techniques.
• Electrophysiology support.
• Cath lab operations.
• EKG interpretation and Holter monitoring.
• Stress testing and cardiac ultrasound, including stress echo and dobutamine stress echo.
• Vascular ultrasound.
