Private Swim Instructor (Part-Time, On-Campus)

About the role

The Aquatics department at Georgetown University seeks a Private Swim Instructor to deliver one‑on‑one swim lessons. The role focuses on adult learners of all levels, with occasional sessions for children, and is scheduled for evenings and weekends, averaging about 10 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide private swim instruction to beginner, intermediate and advanced adult swimmers.
• Adapt teaching methods for fearful adult swimmers and help clients build confidence.
• Occasionally teach children as needed.
• Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor during all sessions.
• Contribute to the revenue goals of the Aquatics department.

Required profile

• Previous experience teaching adult swimmers at beginner, intermediate or advanced levels.
• Engaging, professional approach with strong motivation to help clients achieve swim goals.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends on a part‑time basis.
• CPR/AED First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
• Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification (preferred but not required).
