Principal Project Manager - Highway Design/Construction - Transportation

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead highway design and construction programs for transportation clients in the East Central US region, based in Cincinnati. The role serves as the primary client contact and ensures projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Assign engineering staff and collaborate with Project, Regional, and Technical Managers to optimize project delivery.
• Lead business development activities, including proposal writing, pricing reviews, and capture management for key pursuits.
• Act as the company representative in client and subconsultant meetings, negotiate scope changes, and manage contracts.
• Serve as Design Manager or Discipline Lead for traditional and design‑build projects, overseeing technical, schedule, and financial performance.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports and maintain professional relationships with key team members and subconsultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Ohio.
• 15+ years of project execution or program management experience on ODOT and other highway/bridge projects.
• Broad technical and business background with willingness to travel nationally.
