Principal MRB/Liaison Engineer – MAP A220

About the role

The Principal MRB/Liaison Engineer (MAP) for the A220 program is responsible for developing and approving technical solutions to aircraft non‑conformities. The role represents engineering specialties such as aircraft systems, cabin, electrical and mechanical installation, and structures, ensuring compliance with design offices and aviation authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Create, approve, and release technical solutions, justification reports, and troubleshooting instructions for repairs and reworks, and document anomalies for design offices and authorities (EASA, FAA, Transport Canada).
• Analyze reported malfunctions of aircraft systems and structures, launch troubleshooting activities, and manage corrective actions including new modifications and drawing updates.
• Act as the interface between design organizations and manufacturing, representing design offices, subcontractors, and risk‑sharing partners.
• Support the Final Assembly Line (FAL) from section delivery through flight‑line activities, including customer presentations and ferry flights.
• Perform MRB audits, manage cost centers, establish flight‑clearance prerequisites, and train onsite personnel on new design and production techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 13 + years of relevant experience or demonstrated competency at senior level.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 10 % domestically and internationally.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, across traditional boundaries, and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Catia (preferred).
• Use of Aircraft Wiring List, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, and Illustrated Parts Catalog for research and verification.
• Configuration management knowledge.
• MRB audit experience.
• Advanced knowledge of engine, fuel, pneumatic, APU, hydraulic, cabin systems and metallic/composite aerospace structures.
