Principal AI-Native Software Engineer

About the role

ButterflyMX is seeking a Principal AI‑Native Software Engineer to lead product initiatives from business requirements to secure, production‑ready software. The role is fully remote and focuses on leveraging AI agents, especially Claude Code, to dramatically increase engineering output while maintaining high quality.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Design to translate business requirements into technical specifications, identify risks, and define acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and operate end‑to‑end product initiatives using an AI‑native workflow with Claude Code agents.
• Manage multiple AI agents in parallel, provide context, review output, and ensure code quality, security and performance.
• Automate parts of the product development lifecycle – from requirement translation to infrastructure provisioning and monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level backend engineer with deep experience in TypeScript services and data stores (MongoDB, SQL).
• Extensive hands‑on use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code) to drive large‑scale feature delivery.
• Strong judgment on architecture, security, testing and operational reliability.
