About the role

Ochsner Health is expanding its primary‑care network in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and is looking for board‑certified or board‑eligible Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physicians. The role offers the chance to work in a modern outpatient environment supported by extensive specialist and ancillary services, digital‑medicine tools, and a robust care‑coordination infrastructure. Both newly graduated physicians and those with several years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary‑care evaluations, preventive services, and chronic disease management for adult and family patients.
• Manage medication refills through a dedicated refill center that handles over 70 % of requests, reducing administrative burden.
• Utilize the Epic electronic health record for documentation, order entry, and care coordination.
• Collaborate with LPN care coordinators and outpatient care managers to close care gaps and address social determinants of health.
• Participate in on‑call coverage and leverage remote‑messaging nurses to respond to patient portal inquiries efficiently.
• Engage with digital‑medicine platforms to support patients with chronic conditions.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Willingness to work onsite in Lake Charles and integrate with Ochsner’s multidisciplinary teams.
