Preschool Teacher Assistant

About the role

The Preschool Teacher Assistant supports classroom teachers in delivering a nurturing early‑learning environment. This position works directly with young children, helping to implement daily activities and maintain a safe, healthy setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing program activities and setting up daily lessons.
• Coordinate small‑group projects such as arts, crafts, and cooking.
• Supervise napping children and ensure proper ratios on the playground.
• Help with lunch and snack distribution, clean‑up, and restroom assistance.
• Support classroom behavior management and attend to minor injuries, completing required paperwork.
• Participate in parent pick‑up, drop‑off, and extended‑day activities.

Required profile

• High school graduate.
• Completion of 12 units in Early Childhood Education or equivalent program.
• Ability to work cooperatively and follow direction from adults.
• Understanding and support of the program’s philosophy.
• Pass Department of Social Services clearance checks.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Required skills

• CPR certified.
• First Aid certified.
