Premium Server - The Mann Center

About the role

The premium server provides exceptional guest service while working together efficiently in the premium areas of The Mann Center venue. Servers must know the food and beverage offerings available throughout the venue. The position is based in Philadelphia.

Key responsibilities

• Introduce guests to menu items, promote food and beverage specials and use suggestive selling to upsell when appropriate
• Check IDs for alcohol and serve responsibly in line with Pennsylvania's RAMP standards
• Ensure food and beverages meet quality standards and deliver them to the right tables on time
• Describe food products in detail and support the service staff by clearing and cleaning tables and running food
• Work as a team with other service departments and rotate to other service locations when needed
• Use the Appetize POS system to run tabs and process payments
• Perform opening, closing and side work as assigned by supervisors and managers

Required profile

• At least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent
• Able to read, speak and write English
• Flexible schedule covering all venue events, including extended hours, days, nights, weekends and holidays
• Punctual, dependable, able to work in an open-air environment and under pressure
• Sufficient mobility and ability to lift 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds
• Meets state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcohol service
• RAMP certification required (can be provided by the employer after hiring)

Required skills

• POS system (Appetize)
• Preferred: experience in a fast-paced high-end club or restaurant, basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standards, and good listening skills
