Practice Manager – Surgical Specialties

About the role

The Plastic Surgery Practice Manager oversees daily operations of the UAMS Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery services. Working closely with physicians, clinical staff, and multiple university departments, the role ensures efficient patient flow, high‑quality service, and strong financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert for all operational aspects of the Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic practices, coordinating with internal departments and external vendors.
• Manage financial workflows including estimates, payments, charge posting, account reconciliation, and reporting.
• Develop, analyze, and present monthly financial reports to physicians and leadership, recommending improvements.
• Optimize clinic and surgical schedules to maximize provider capacity and patient access.
• Lead initiatives to reduce patient no‑shows, improve appointment completion, and enhance patient experience.
• Train clinic staff on specialized Plastic Surgery and cosmetic surgery workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, Finance or related field with at least five years of progressive experience in a hospital or outpatient setting (or high school diploma with nine years experience).
• Demonstrated experience in financial data collection, reporting, analysis, and interpretation.
