Postdoctoral Researcher – Neurology Clinical Trials

About the role

The Department of Neurology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine seeks a postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary team focused on neurology clinical trials. The fellow will support ongoing studies and help launch new research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research related to neurology clinical trials, including enrollment of study participants.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on study design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Prepare reports and draft academic manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Participate in grant writing and identify funding opportunities.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within the department and with external partners.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.
• Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and regulations governing human subjects research.

Required profile

• Earned doctorate in a relevant field with a strong background in quantitative research methods.
• Experience conducting research in mental health, especially suicide/self‑harm epidemiology and prevention.
• Track record of research productivity or strong potential for high‑quality outputs.
• Familiarity with ethical considerations and IRB protocols for human subjects research.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as Stata, R, or SAS.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork.
