Platform Engineer

About the role

The Platform Engineer will design, develop, implement and integrate computer, network and storage infrastructure for a critical national program. This role blends hands‑on engineering with documentation and baseline control, enabling software teams to focus on mission capabilities while ensuring security and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the transition of tightly‑coupled systems to a flexible infrastructure platform.
• Design, develop and maintain build, integration, test and deployment pipelines.
• Apply best‑practice DevOps/DevSecOps tools to improve scalability, reduce deployment time and automate configuration management.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists and agile teams to deliver robust platform solutions.
• Integrate security services such as encryption and access management and provide ongoing operational support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, IT or Physics) with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance, CI polygraph and Security+ or CISSP certification.

Required skills

• Kubernetes and Docker container orchestration.
• Programming/scripting languages: Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go.
• Red Hat Linux administration.
• CI/CD pipeline tools: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code and automation frameworks: Terraform, Ansible, Chef.
