Plant Engineering Maintenance Supervisor

This position offers a chance to join 3M’s global engineering community, leading plant‑level maintenance activities while fostering a safe and sustainable environment. You will supervise engineering staff, drive equipment reliability, and support strategic initiatives across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Promote a safe and sustainable work environment, model safe behaviors, and lead incident investigations and WIM reports.
• Provide supervision and technical direction to Plant Engineering personnel for maintenance of machines, systems and facilities to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
• Schedule, assign and direct personnel for maintenance tasks, oversee procurement of specialty parts and manage custodial, building and grounds support functions.
• Monitor progress of work, evaluate completed assignments for correct procedures and quality, and ensure proper use of the CMMS.
• Lead, coach and develop employees, oversee training completion, and participate in hiring processes for interns, student helpers and contract workers.
• Represent plant leadership on strategic initiatives, provide on‑call support for 24/7 operations and cover alternative shifts as needed.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in a related technical field (or Bachelor’s degree) completed before start date.
• Minimum five years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Proven ability to supervise technical staff and resolve conflicts or inappropriate behaviors.
