Planner II – B2 Manufacturing Scheduler

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering for semiconductor and advanced display equipment, is seeking a Planner II (B2) to drive high‑complexity manufacturing scheduling at its Austin facility. The role will plan and control multiple production lines, manage capacity, and support field and R&D activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and control high‑complexity manufacturing line scheduling, balancing business demand, material constraints and capacity.
• Own tool configuration and slotting, and approve Non‑Pure Manufacturing Activities (NPMA) allocations.
• Monitor and improve line performance metrics such as OTD, EOP, cycle time and SOE.
• Support manufacturing capacity fulfillment and allocate training periods.
• Coordinate field support activities, act as primary contact for Product Support and R&D teams, and manage retrofit and option‑build projects.
• Plan home‑tool support and manage R&D capacity needs.

Required profile

• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge in manufacturing planning and the ability to broaden capabilities.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to apply them to daily work.
• Provides informal guidance to new team members without formal supervisory duties.
• Solves straightforward problems using technical experience and judgment.
• Impacts quality of own work and that of the team while adhering to guidelines.
• Communicates complex information clearly in routine situations.
