Piping Engineer 3

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Piping Engineer 3 to support its Denver office. The engineer performs a range of design, analysis and review tasks, acting as a lead on less complex assignments and generating complete design specifications for more complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design development, analysis or review tasks under minimal supervision and act as lead on less complex tasks
• Generate complete design specifications for more complex projects
• Coordinate with engineering, logistics, finance and program management to define system specifications and requirements
• Maintain project status databases and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
• Liaise with customers from quotation through design and test, including design reviews and technical working group meetings
• Conduct site visits and experimental investigations, analyse engineering problems and propose solutions
• Verify compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
• Support technical proposals and comment on their technical content and level of effort

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field
• 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Position may require travel and the ability to pass and maintain a security clearance
• US citizen only; dual citizens are not allowed
• Preferred: DOE project experience and a PE license

Required skills

• Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software applications
• Preferred: B31.3, piping stress analysis, piping specifications, piping material and valve selection
• Preferred: Plant 3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD and Revit BIM
