Pipeline Operator – Entry Level

About the role

The Operator will support the operation and maintenance of Southern Star’s natural gas transmission pipeline system. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on training to develop expertise in pipeline and compressor‑station functions while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with routine mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on pipeline equipment and compressor stations.
• Perform basic single‑phase electrical tasks such as maintenance and replacement of equipment, following NFPA 70E guidelines.
• Utilize company IT systems to record work, track maintenance activities, and generate required documentation.
• Support safety programs, including defensive driving, first‑aid/CPR, and emergency‑procedure training.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Entry‑level experience or willingness to learn on the job.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office applications.

Required skills

• Basic electrical maintenance (single‑phase equipment).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with IT systems for maintenance tracking.
