Pipeline Engineer (Graphics/3D)

About the role

World Labs is building a production‑grade web application for 3D Gaussian Splat scene generation, editing, and publishing. The Pipeline Engineer will bridge cutting‑edge research and product, turning research prototypes into reliable, user‑friendly features.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with graphics/computer‑vision researchers and frontend engineers to ship usable product features.
• Convert standalone Python scripts into clean, production‑ready pipelines with well‑defined inputs, outputs, validations, and error handling.
• Design and implement backend services, APIs, and tooling that expose complex 3D workflows at scale.
• Integrate with the broader 3D ecosystem, handling asset import/export and format conversion for common DCC tools.

Required profile

• Strong pipeline mindset with experience turning research code into production systems.
• Passion for building tools and infrastructure that make complex systems understandable and usable.
• Fluency in the 3D ecosystem, including familiarity with 3D algorithms, DCC tools, and common file formats.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, including packaging, typing, debugging, and performance profiling.
• Experience with backend fundamentals: HTTP APIs, FastAPI (or similar), async programming.
• Solid understanding of core 3D graphics and computer‑vision concepts (transforms, cameras, coordinate systems, rendering, visual artifact debugging).
• Knowledge of DCC tools and common 3D file formats.
