Physician – GI Medical Oncologist

About the role

Ochsner Health’s MD Anderson Cancer Institute is seeking a Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible Gastrointestinal Medical Oncologist to join a multidisciplinary team focused on cancers of the esophagus, pancreas, liver, neuroendocrine system, anal canal and colon. The physician will provide both inpatient and outpatient care, participate in tumor boards, and contribute to research and education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive medical oncology care for GI malignancies across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in weekly GI tumor board meetings and multidisciplinary care planning.
• Lead or co‑investigate clinical trials ranging from Phase 1 to Phase 3.
• Teach and mentor hematology/oncology fellows and residents.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Oncology.
• Experience or strong interest in gastrointestinal oncology subspecialty.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a large multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Experience managing and conducting clinical trial protocols.
