Physician – Child Abuse Pediatrician

About the role

Ochsner Children’s is seeking a board‑certified or board‑eligible Child Abuse Pediatrician to lead and expand its child abuse program across New Orleans and the Gulf South. The role involves overseeing outpatient, inpatient and emergency department consults for suspected abuse and coordinating with a new parish‑funded child advocacy center.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a comprehensive program that provides consults for suspected child abuse and neglect in outpatient, inpatient and emergency settings.
• Collaborate with the newly created trauma program and the upcoming comprehensive pediatric emergency department slated to open in early 2028.
• Provide patient‑ and family‑centered medical evaluations with strong support from Children’s Hospital leadership and administration.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary program and work across multiple sites in the region.
