Physiatrist – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

About the role

We are seeking board‑certified or board‑eligible physiatrists to join Ochsner’s expanding Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department in New Orleans. Candidates may be recent fellowship graduates or experienced physicians. The role involves delivering care across inpatient and outpatient settings within a CARF‑certified rehabilitation facility and a new 125‑bed Continuum Care Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in back and spine, inpatient, pediatric, and general physiatry clinics.
• Deliver neurorehabilitation, musculoskeletal, and non‑surgical pain management services.
• Collaborate with the Neuroscience Institute and multidisciplinary teams on gait disorders, spasticity, stroke, spinal cord injury, and head injury cases.
• Participate in education and training of residents and medical students.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
• Fellowship training or relevant clinical experience in the listed subspecialties.
• Commitment to teaching, mentorship, and working in a multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
• Proficiency in gait analysis, spasticity management, and stroke rehabilitation.
• Experience managing inpatient rehabilitation programs and outpatient clinics.
