Phlebotomist (Bilingual – English/Spanish)

About the role

The Phlebotomist is responsible for the safe and efficient collection of plasma from donors. Working in a bilingual environment, the role involves performing venipuncture, monitoring the apheresis process, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Set up donors, perform venipuncture, and manage the apheresis procedure according to SOPs.
• Evaluate vein performance, make adjustments to optimize donation time, and ensure donor safety.
• Educate donors on plasma‑derived therapeutic products, screening, nutrition, and center policies.
• Monitor donors for adverse reactions, respond to incidents, and document events using a PDA.
• Calibrate equipment, troubleshoot alarms, and perform maintenance as required.
• Collect arm or whole‑blood samples for testing and accurately record donor data.
• Maintain a clean work environment, manage supplies, and follow HSE and OSHA safety procedures.
• Assist with donor flow on the floor and alert supervisors to any issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency may be required.
• Internal candidates must have completed CSL Plasma DST training; external candidates should have relevant phlebotomy or plasma‑collection experience.
