About the role
The Pharmacy Technician IV – Procurement supports the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) pharmacy by managing the acquisition of medications, supplies, and equipment. This position ensures a reliable supply chain, compliance with regulations, and efficient service to clinical staff.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of pharmacy products, including medications, devices, and consumables.
- Maintain inventory levels, conduct regular stock reconciliations, and generate purchase orders.
- Communicate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all purchases comply with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Process invoices, verify receipt of goods, and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to forecast needs and support budgeting.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; Pharmacy Technician certification preferred.
- Several years of experience in pharmacy operations or procurement.
- Strong knowledge of medication handling, inventory control, and purchasing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
