Pharmacy Technician I – Part Time (Cancer Institute)

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician I will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist in the Cancer Institute Pharmacy, supporting daily dispensing operations and sterile compounding of chemotherapy and other hazardous medications.

Key responsibilities

• Compound sterile preparations, including chemotherapy infusions, following USP <797> and <800> standards.
• Perform daily and monthly cleaning, decontamination, and disinfection of cleanroom suites.
• Use barcode scanning and electronic medical record systems to verify components.
• Prepare IV medication batches, reconstitute drugs, and document waste for billing compliance.
• Maintain inventory, rotate stock, and remove expired products.
• Troubleshoot drug delivery equipment and assist with receiving and stocking deliveries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pharmacy technician license from the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for licensure.
• Preferred: certifications such as PTCB, immunization, sterile compounding, or 340B.
• Relevant sterile compounding or hazardous drug handling experience.
• Strong computer and math skills.
