About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist to support the Emergency Medicine department. This position will ensure safe, effective medication management for patients in a fast‑paced emergency setting.
Key responsibilities
- Manage medication distribution and dispensing within the Emergency Department.
- Verify and process emergency prescriptions, including compounding as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
- Provide drug information and clinical support to emergency physicians, nurses, and staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient medication therapy.
Required profile
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and active pharmacy licensure in the United States.
- Experience working in an emergency or acute care pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and regulatory standards.
- Ability to thrive in a high‑stress, fast‑moving environment.
