Pharmacy Specialist – Dermatology

About the role

The Pharmacy Specialist will join the UAMS Specialty Pharmacy Services – Dermatology team, delivering pharmacy services that prioritize safety, efficacy, and positive patient outcomes within an interdisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, ensuring therapy appropriateness regarding safety, comorbidities, dosing, and side‑effect management.
• Develop and manage disease‑state management agreements with providers and document clinical interventions.
• Provide drug information to medical staff, support payer negotiations with evidence‑based data, and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Engage in quality improvement projects, serve on the Quality Management Committee, and train staff, students, and residents.

Required profile

• Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited pharmacy program with a Pharm.D. or BS in Pharmacy.
• PGY1 residency training or at least three years of relevant experience.
• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Board certification in a relevant specialty is preferred.
