About the role

The Pharmacy Resident PGY2 position at Ochsner Health focuses on advancing clinical practice skills in a specialized pharmacy setting. Residents actively join multidisciplinary patient‑care rounds, teaching conferences, and medication‑use processes to deepen their expertise.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess and provide direct care for patients.
  • Manage medication therapy and ensure optimal drug use.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines.
  • Develop professional and management skills through documentation and projects.
  • Maintain residency documentation and complete assigned projects.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and teaching activities.

Required profile

  • Graduate of an accredited College/School of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of an ASHP‑accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency.
  • Active pharmacy license in the state of practice.
  • No prior work experience required.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Competence using Windows‑based computer applications.
