Pharmacy Intern – Public Health Internship

About the role
The Georgia Department of Public Health offers a Pharmacy Intern experience designed to expose pharmacy students to public‑health pharmacy practice. Interns will gain hands‑on exposure to how pharmacy services support patient care, disease prevention, and health‑system operations within a state‑wide public health setting.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in population health, medication safety, health promotion and disease‑prevention activities.
- Assist with evidence‑based information dissemination and interprofessional collaboration.
- Support pharmacy operations and site‑specific public‑health projects.
- Engage with state, district and county health operations to understand coordination of public‑health initiatives.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- Available for 10‑20 hours per week for up to 10 weeks.
