Petroleum Service Technician (Remote, West Texas)

About the role

SPATCO is looking for an experienced Petroleum Service Technician to join its team, working remotely for the West Texas branch. The company provides full training combining vendor training and certification with monitored field experience. The technician is the face of the company toward customers and works on a rotating on-call schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all paperwork for every service call on site, call vendors for warranty issues, obtain close-out numbers and call the dispatcher after each call.
• Follow daily directions from the Service Manager or Service Dispatcher and abide by service call procedures.
• Troubleshoot and repair petroleum product leaks in hydraulic pumping areas, and calibrate meters.
• Repair Fleet Fueling Systems (PetroVend, Gasboy, Fuel Master), mechanical flow meters, electronic tank monitors (Veeder-Root, Incon, Red Jacket, PetroVend) and POS terminals (Verifone, Dresser Wayne, Gilbarco).
• Repair gasoline dispensing units to electronic board or part level, troubleshoot electrical wiring and read wiring diagrams.
• Work with warehouse personnel to verify inventory, replenish trucks and remove slow-moving parts.
• Drive the company service van safely and keep it clean and maintained.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; IT/tech support or mechanic background preferred (at least 1 year).
• Clean driving record (no more than 1 violation).
• Able to lift 75-100 lbs, work outdoors in all weather and work under time constraints.
• Professional, courteous communication with customers.

Required skills

• Use of handheld test equipment: volt-ohm meter, amp-clamp, Windows laptop with communication software.
• At least 1 year of strong mechanical/technical experience.
