Perinatal RN (PRN) – In‑House Agency – Monroe

About the role

This 12‑week PRN assignment in the Perinatal Unit at Ochsner’s Monroe location provides registered nurses with the opportunity to lead patient care using the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice.

Key responsibilities

• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while maintaining accountability for quality patient outcomes.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver patient care and adapt communication to diverse patient populations.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Apply data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
