Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking a board‑certified/eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist with specialized training in cardiac anesthesia. The physician will join a dedicated team of three faculty members to provide 100% pediatric cardiac care, including heart transplantation and ventricular assist device support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate anesthesia care for congenital cardiac surgeries, transplant cases, and related procedures.
• Participate in approximately 250 bypass cases and 500 catheter‑lab cases annually.
• Cover on‑call duties using a tiered call system, with post‑call time off as specified.
• Collaborate with a small team of experienced CRNAs, typically maintaining a 1:1 provider‑to‑CRNA ratio.

Required profile

• BC/BE Fellowship‑trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist.
• Sub‑fellowship training or demonstrated experience in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia.
• Commitment to a primarily pediatric practice, with optional adult cases.

Required skills

• Pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
